The Family Promise program is working!!
The Progam started the program in Fall 06, many families have regained self-sufficiency and hundreds have received guidance/assistance at the Family Promise Day Center in Milton.
The Family Promise Office is in need of volunteers to answer phones, take messages and miscellaneous office work. To qualify you must be 18 or older and be willing to commit to a minimum of 4 hours a week. They also need drivers to transport guests. For information call Louise at 626-3676.

CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUPS ~ As part of the effort to support seniors and their Caregivers, the Council on Aging of West Florida, Inc. {COAWFLA}, a non-profit organization, sponsors and conducts monthly Caregiver Support Groups in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties at several different locations. These Support Groups are non-disease specific, are led by a facilitator, and county or location of residence is not a requirement to attend any or all of the meetings. These groups are available to support all Caregivers regardless of the condition or illness of the person being cared for.....ALL Caregivers are welcome to attend ~ including Grandparents caring for/raising grandchildren or relatives caring for a disabled adult! No reservation is required for the Support Groups. These Caregiver Support Groups meet monthly and are FREE ~
